Qalupalik - The Escape

This is a Qalupalik, an Inuit legend said to steal children that stray too far from their parents and too close to the sea. The Qalupalik is said to have green skin, long fingernails, and long dark hair. The Qalupalik also wears a amautiit, a type of hood Inuit women wear to carry their children. The Qalupalik steals unsupervised children by the seaside and places them in the amautiit to carry off and live with them in the depths.
